NEW YORK (September 14, 2021) – New York Yankees Legend, World Series Champion, and Cy Young Award Winner CC Sabathia and The PitCCh In Foundation will host the PitCCh In Foundation Charity Golf Tournament Presented by Kaulig Companies on Monday, October 4th at Alpine Country Club in Demarest, NJ.

Set the day before the 2021 MLB Playoffs begin, the PitCCh In Foundation Charity Golf Tournament Presented by Kaulig Companies will be held on the beautiful greens of Alpine Country Club. Sabathia and other notable celebrities and athletes will tee off in friendly competition to benefit Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation, which he and his wife Amber founded in 2010 to enrich the lives of inner city youth by raising their self-esteem through educational and athletic activities. Confirmed attendees for the event include Michael Strahan, Sharlee Jeter, Angie Martinez, Action Bronson, Ebro Darden and more to be announced. Cocktails and a silent auction will follow the shotgun start and scramble style tournament.

“Through retirement, it’s been important to me and Amber to stay active in giving back to the communities that have done so much for us across New York, Cleveland, and our hometown of Vallejo, Calif.,” said Sabathia. “Through this event, we’re excited to continue the work our organization does for inner-city kids. We’re thankful to all the people who have signed up to compete, donated and supported the foundation and are looking forward to an awesome day on the greens.”

Fittingly, the event’s title sponsor is Kaulig Companies, an organization based in Hudson, Ohio, less than 30 miles southeast of where Sabathia began his career with the Cleveland Indians in 2001. Through its Kaulig Charitable Giving Programs, the organization aims to support the wellbeing of children and families and develop partnerships with like-minded nonprofits in Northeast Ohio and beyond. The organization has deep roots in the sports industry as Matt Kaulig, Executive Chairman and Owner of The Kaulig Companies and Founder of Kaulig Giving, is also the owner of Kaulig Racing, a professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

“It is an honor to partner with the PitCCh In Foundation for such an iconic event that gives back to communities in a way that is so special to Kaulig Companies,” said Matt Kaulig, Executive Chairman of Kaulig Companies and founder of Kaulig Giving. “With both of us having ties to Cleveland, sports and philanthropy, it was an authentic connection when we were first introduced to CC’s team, and an easy decision to align with their efforts to give back, much like we do at Kaulig Giving. We are looking forward to doing our part to raise the most we can during this inaugural event.”

“All of us at Kaulig Companies are so excited to sponsor the first-ever PitCCh In Foundation Charity Golf Tournament! Just like PitCCh In, Kaulig Companies focuses on making an impact for kids in the community through educational and athletic programs, among other things” said Tim Clepper, President and CEO of Kaulig Companies. “This partnership with Kaulig Companies and PitCCh In is the perfect way to have an impact on kids on and off the field.”

ABOUT THE PITCCH IN FOUNDATION:
The PitCCh In Foundation was established in 2008 with its first event in Cleveland and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2010 by New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia and his wife Amber to help the communities that have given them so much. With the support of CC’s mother, Margie Sabathia-Lanier, and a dedicated team of professional staff and volunteers, the foundation showcases three signature programs that provide young people with the tools to be successful in school and on the field: All-Star Baseball Clinic, Youth Backpack Program, and Field Renovations. CC and Amber were motivated by not only the idea of giving back but by developing a long term platform with the foundation to provide young people with the belief in their abilities and to make their dreams become a reality.
