Back in August 2020, the Cleveland Indians Charities presented by Kaulig Giving conducted its second annual Cleveland Indians Charities Givethon. With the global pandemic looming, and new unforeseen challenges that presented children from going back to classrooms in the fall, the Cleveland Indians and Kaulig Giving knew they had to step up to the plate and help strikeout the digital divide.
Cleveland Metropolitan School District students would be starting off the 2020 school year learning remotely. Unfortunately, countless children and families in our community didn’t have the right technology or even access to the internet. Together the Cleveland Indians Charities and Kaulig Giving were committed to providing children the best opportunity for education and raising funds through the Giveathon to address the digital divide. The Giveathon ended up raising over $235,000 and a third of the money raised went directly to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to equip these children with the technology needed to succeed inside and outside the classroom!
Hear from those at Cleveland Metropolitan School District who were impacted by the generosity of Kaulig Giving and Cleveland Indians Charities.
