It was wet. It was wild. But in the end, A.J. Allmendinger brought a second-straight trophy home for the Kaulig Racing crew this weekend.

Known as the “road course ringer,” Allmendinger fought through horrible weather and track conditions at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s “roval” course to take the checkered flag at the Xfinity Series Drive for the Cure 250–the same race he won last year.

“I don’t know what we just witnessed. Thanks to all the men and women at Kaulig Racing. We finally got Ellsworth Advisors back in victory lane.”

Despite a few bumps and spin-outs, teammate Ross Chastain–the driver of the No. 10 Nutrien Ag Solutions Chevrolet–finished fifth and picked up some crucial playoff points along the way, advancing in the series.

Last week’s Talladega winner–Justin Haley–was caught up in a hard crash midway through the race, wedging the No. 11 LeafFilter Gutter Solutions Chevrolet underneath another car. Even with a 35th place finish, his recent win locked him into the playoffs.

The Kaulig Racing team is back at it–hunting for the Xfinity Series Championship–at Kansas Speedway for the Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.
